"X" for Alphabe-Thursday...

Okay - I really, really tried to come up with a word to work with that starts with "X" - that is our assignment from Jenny Matlock for this week's Alphabe-Thursday. We have a Webster's Collegiate Dictionary - 7th Edition, if you please...which means that version is really, really old. There are about 64 words starting with "X" in that particular edition - few if any, I can pronounce correctly. After Googling "Webster's Collegiate Dictionary," I have discovered that there is now version #11 available which no doubt contains many, many more "X" words...and those are also beyond my ability to pronounce. We should, however, purchase a newer volume to be more current on any words that have been added to our "English" language. There is only one problem with doing that right now...
I am e"X'asperated....why? Because we can barely get out of our driveway which just happens to be a snowball's throw from our nearby County X road (and needs plowing, by the way)
We are now into the 4th official day of Spring...according to my desk calendar. Can you see the little words at the side of the March 20th date..."Spring EquinoX."
Now, I ask  you - does this look like the "Spring EquinoX?"
Mr. Outback turning into the wind with Kelsie "herding."
This is how our morning started on Wednesday...so far, 13" of the white stuff...the house is wrapped in a wintery blanket after an all night snowfall...

The sidewalk has disappeared...
Our 3 girls are totally confused -
...especially our sweet senior sheltie, Sasha who gets confused more easily these days, bless her heart.
Where did that green grass go?

eXasperated?...more like eXtremely eXasperated...
I promise to go out and purchase that updated dictionary as soon as we dig out and maybe then I will be able to find a good "X" word to share...but for now, I am just plum tuckered out trying to find where Spring has gone...

Be sure to drop by Jenny's for all the other "X" postings!!!
And don't forget to visit my previous post - " A Long Overdue Giveaway" dated March 20th....there is a little giveaway going on and you just need to leave a comment there to enter...

  3. The best thing about a spring snowfall is that it normally melts quickly.

  4. We only got 8 inches - so you win!!! Seriously - I hope my crocuses survive this - it was so nice to see them that one day when the snow had all melted! Let's hope this melts really fast. Chris

  11. There is nothing more frustrating than snowfalls when we're all looking forward to Spring. It's downright rude if you ask me and someone needs to inform the weatherman!
Hope it all clears away quickly

  12. Wow with all that snow I'd be exasperated too! And it's suppose to be spring dangit! We're having similar strange weather as you though. Cherry blossoms are scheduled to bloom this weekend but in order for that to happen it has to be warm. So far the temperature has dropped 4 degrees from normal and is even snowing in some parts of Japan. That's definitely not normal for late March! Let's hope that it gets warmer for all of us soon!

  13. The girls are so beautiful frolicking in the snow - I know - with all that fur, they will be bringing in some little balls of snow. I keep trying to give you hope that Spring is around the corner. Not even going to mention our temperature. Judy C

  14. I am so sorry winter has worn out its welcome. I count myself fortunate to be living in the south, especially at how bad this past winter has been for everyone!

  17. eXasperation!
My friend 9from Northern California) sent me a photo of the First-Day-of-Spring snow. I goes almost up to the roof of her house!
Here we've had no snow since Spring began, but hail, not once but twice.

  18. My that is a lot of snow for so late in the year. Your pups are beautiful. We are expecting rain for the 4th day in a row here. Unusual for SoCal.

  19. Oh my goodness, you sure got dumped on royally today and I really feel for all of you. Love your gorgeous Shelties, I'd take them in a heartbeat. I just lost my four legged companion of 15 years and miss her so much, I miss her sitting on my projects and trying them out for me. Hopefully your spring won't be too far along, one can only hope. Thanks for the great read today.

  20. That was a cute one, Pat! Big sympathy to you for all that snow. When we lived in the east I always took the insult (of snow after the first day of spring) personally. Of course, snow in April was the last straw!

  21. Cute, cute post! The dog pictures made me laugh but the snow made me shiver...Yikes! I forget that elsewhere in the country it is still winter.

I think X is a hard letter, with or without an updated letter!

    This was X-cellent nonetheless!

    Thanks for linking this week.

    I enjoyed my stop here.

    A+
