I'm in Heaven...

....quilter's Heaven, that is...because I am...

Down By The Old Mill Stream...

This book has been so elusive. For almost 14 years, I have been on the lookout for a copy and had just about given up. Rarely, one would appear on eBay always way beyond me...

Enter my Buds - our little stitching group - the 5 of us have known each other for years - through thick and thin. Turning 70 next week, my emotions have ranged from denial, up and down blues and wondering how I got to this time in my life. Yesterday my friends surprised me with deliciously decorated cupcakes and a wonderfully wrapped package which when opened was The Book.

I laid awake last night reflecting on this beautiful present and even more on being blessed with the gift of their friendship. Thank you Dear Buds - I am touched beyond belief...

Pat

PS - this Crockpot Cheese Tortellini With Sausage is almost ready for dinner tonight - our next major snow storm has arrived and the winds are blowing snow in from the West...

A wonderful birthday gift from women who must know and love you! What day is your birthday? Enquiring minds NEED to know!

What a thoughtful bunch of friends!
Isn't 70 pretty young by today's standard? My Dad is 90 and still gardening in the summer and shoveling snow in the winter.

Happy Birthday! I hope to still be quilting and enjoying my friends when I turn 70 in another 14 years! So glad you got that book of your dreams.

Happy, happy birthday! As a cancer survivor of almost 30 years, I always embraced birthdays until last year, when I faced 60. How did that happen?! My reaction sometimes bothers me more than my age! I try to remind myself that it's just a number, that in many ways I'm in better shape than I've been in a number of years and that really, nothing has changed except the number, so look forward and roll on.
That said, really, how the heck did we get here? ;-)
What wonderful, attentive friends!

Happy Birthday. You are blessed with some wonderful and thoughtful friends.
I tell myself, every birthday, it's just a number. Some of those numbers are hard to take and make us wonder.. where did the time go. Cherish each day.
Have a blessed birthday.

Happy Birthday! I
So nice of your friends to gift you with something you'd been wanting for so long! I was shocked when I saw what this book is selling for, what is so special about it? Just curious.

I am not familiar with this book. I am wondering what the Mill Stream has to do with Rhode Island quilts. Intriguing!

What a thoughtful group of ladies. Happy Birthday.
Turning 70 isn’t so bad. It just makes you want to hurry up because there is so much left to do.
