A wedding gown...

.....brings comfort...

http://www.nicuhelpinghands.org

I first became aware of this remarkable project when someone posted the link to it on Celebrate Hand Quilting.

Having gone through the heartbreak of never bringing our first son home in 1973, it was with a great sense of comfort that I decided to donate my own wedding gown.

Our wedding day - 8-20-66

The tiny garments that the volunteers are creating speak clearly of love and compassion.

I wanted to share this link - perhaps their mission will speak to you in some way also.

Blessings,

Pat

  1. What a beautiful, generous gesture. It's amazing the ideas people can come up with too show love and support. By the way, you are such a cute couple!

Your dress was beautiful. The Empire style is so romantic.

  7. When I used to smock I would make preemie gowns. I almost forgot about that until I saw your post. Sometimes, those preemie gowns didn't go home either which is heartbreaking. Thanks for the reminder and inspiration.
