Mountmellick quilt top...

....a work in progress since January, 2014. It has been quite a journey...and I love the results!

This quilt is a design by Di Ford Hall of Australia and published throughout last year in Quiltmania. We did not know what each stage would be which added to the challenge! Now I must baste (my least favorite stage of the quilt making process)...

I will have time to think about how to approach the actual quilting.. This week we are "camped out" in front of the house as they refinish our hardwood floors...

...but I still have easy access to my sewing room which is entered by way of a tiled hallway...(kicking myself for not bringing the tile into the kitchen instead of wood...)

Then comes spruce up and painting the laundry room...and the gardens...and the ongoing concerns with my Mom and Dad...

And so it goes at Taylorsoutback...who knew retirement would not be the quiet years...

Have a good week everyone!

Stars at midnight....

...well, 12:10 a.m. to be exact...all 36 stars for the last pieced border in my Mystery Quilt - Mountmellick by Di Ford...and the last 4 hexies needed for the corners...whew! Planning a little time away in the RV next week and this project will go along - hoping to get all the stars appliqued to the background...

Taking a Mother's Day meal to my Mom and Dad at the nursing home on Sunday and wishing all the other Mom's out there a day with loved ones.
