A quilter's "ATM"

...as in Automatic Time Machine...where we could go when in need of more time...which always seems to be in short supply. How wonderful it would be to simply...

And have a few extra hours pop out...

As 2016 is supposed to be the Year of Finishes, April finds me having a reality check...just how many "finishes" can I conceivably accomplish?

A small one - Merry Trails...Merry Memories can be stamped Done...

But in other boxes and bins....

Did any of you start the 2012 Building Houses From Scraps? A house a day for 365 days...somewhere my construction crew got pulled for other projects...guess I am on my own...

The poor neglected Benjamin Biggs borders...scallops in place on 1 long border - still needing petals, and the start of basting on the second long border...

If you could check the withdrawals of time from my own ATM, here is where a chunk of it has been used...

Finishing quilting on the last of the 25 blocks for Beyond the Cherry Tree...outlining those cherries takes forever...

And this coming week will begin handquilting simple vertical lines in the borders...oh dear...best run to that ATM for more time...

Wishing each of you extra hours to do what you love!

Pat

  1. Congratulations on getting your Merry Christmas quilt finished! It feels SO GOOD to mark something off the list! Your hand quilting looks so beautiful on you Cherry Tree quilt. Time, yes, more time and may add some energy to that order.

  2. Your current projects are all super ambitious, complicated and large. Your ATM needs big withdrawals to complete those. It's just the way it is. I'm working on some slow time consumers too. Your Merry Trails is a wonderful finish and it'll be sweet to pull it out in December.

  3. LOL....what a cute post. Love your ATM. I think we can all use that. All your projects are wonderful, but you will be so glad when your Beyond the Cherry Trees is done. You are so close. Everything you have going seems to be kind of long term, so don't be too hard on yourself. They are all coming along nicely.

Wow--all of the 25 blocks quilted. I'd say that is a great accomplishment.
If you find that ATM, please share the location. : )

  5. Wouldn't it be wonderful to find more sewing time! Never mind if they're finished, your projects are lovely. Hand quilting takes time but is so worth the effort.

Beyond the Cherry Trees is going to be a masterpiece when it's completed!
It also looks like you are getting closer to a finish on Ben Biggs too.

I think you are investing your quilting time superably!

  8. Oh, would I love some extra time!
Yes, I started the little houses, I want to make one for each house I have lived in. Since starting I moved again, and have to add another house!
Congratulations on having a finish! All of your work is lovely and worth every stitch.
    Have a great week.

I can see that you can be as busy as you want to be with so many delicious bits and pieces to choose from when you have a minute of spare time.
