Have had some requests for a closer view of The Wedding Quilt - so here goes...
Each strip was cut at 1 1/4" and sewn to 3/4" .
A special thanks to Jan of Rusty Thimble for all the lovely feathers she did using her long-arm machine.
I chose to not include a border for 2 reasons - most of the time when making Log Cabin quilts, traditional barn raising settings is what I go for. Early log cabin quilts typically did not have borders.
Secondly - and I know you will appreciate my ability to Plan Ahead....cough, cough. There was not enough fabric left...when Jena and I shopped for the fabric in Anchorage last summer, I only knew it would be log cabin in design and we bought everything left on the bolt. So there you have it ! LOL That's my story and I am sticking to it!
This was presented to them on the morning of May 31st - just a little quiet family time before everyone arrived prior to a busy day of company, rehearsal and dinner.
And now the quilt is winging its way to Alaska - it was a joy to make and every stitch is filled with love for them.
